How much luck do you need to become rich today?
Zero, just like its always been. “I've found that what most people call luck is often little more than raw talent combined with the ability to make the most of opportunities. (Talon Karrde)” ― Timothy Zahn, Heir to the Empire. “Shallow men believe in luck or in circumstance. Strong men believe in cause and effect.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Answer by Bernie Klinder:
Zero, just like its always been.
- “Shallow men believe in luck or in circumstance. Strong men believe in cause and effect.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
People who haven’t figured out how to be successful always dismiss others success as “getting lucky”. What they describe as “being in the right place at the right time” is a component of:
- How much you read/learn: Innovation and insights arise from making connections between two or more technologies that others have overlooked. The more you know and understand, the more possibilities you’ll see. All sorts of really interesting things happen when someone has a deep understanding of +2 fields and a creative mind.
- If you want to catch more fish, more often, take luck out of your fishing equation and replace it with knowledge of fish, their habitat and behavior, and you will make your own luck. – Tony Bishop
- The more knowledge you get, the more questions you ask. The smarter you get, the more you realize that everything can be possible – George St-Pierre
- Your social network expands your exposure to new ideas and opportunities: The people you talk to everyday influences your world view, exposure to new ideas and opportunities, meeting other people, and changes your “degrees of separation” from the people you want to meet.
- “You become the average of the five people you spend the most time with” – Jim Rohn
- A bias toward action: Lots of people have ideas, few do anything about it. Knowledge without action is useless. Your million dollar idea is worthless if you don’t get off the couch.
- “I've found that what most people call luck is often little more than raw talent combined with the ability to make the most of opportunities. (Talon Karrde)” ― Timothy Zahn, Heir to the Empire
- Perseverance : Everyone sees the success, but not the 99 ideas and attempts that failed. If you read the biographies of successful people, you’ll see how often they fell flat on their face, dusted themselves off, and tried again – learning from every failure and building on that knowledge. A common theme I’ve seen among successful people is they aren’t deterred by high walls or obstacles. They find a way or make a way. They see the “walls” as something that blocks potential competitors who aren’t as determined as they are.
- Perseverance is the mother of good luck – Unknown
Don’t believe the “luck” excuse. Go make your own luck.
Hope this was helpful/insightful.

What is your primary reason for wanting to stay alive?
What is your primary reason for wanting to stay alive? by Ben Rode
Answer by Ben Rode:
To experience everything there is to experience! Since this isn’t a video game, we can’t just restart at the last save point.
Either we die, and that’s it. Or we reincarnate and have to start over as a baby, trying to learn everything all over again.
I have come so far and accomplished so much, and there is so much more fun stuff to do! I’m only just getting started… When I was 16–21, I was an adrenaline junkie, risking my life as much as I could to get a rush. I have too much to live for now!
I live in my dream home, with my dream wife, and a dream business where I get to only do what lights me up, and I have 2 amazing kids and another on the way.
I have come to far to start over now!!!
Thanks for the question. It was fun to reflect on all my gratitudes

If you were alone in your bedroom with a naked woman laying on your bed, would you have sex with her?
Not sure about the calling the police on a naked stranger offering (free?) sex. Or the ‘Just say No’ to a real offer by (naked) someone (other than my significant other/lover)
Answer by Franklin Veaux:
If I am home alone and a random woman I don’t know is naked in my bed offering sex, the answer is no.
No, wait a minute, that’s not true. The answer is hell no. Plus I’m calling the police.
If I am home alone and a woman I know who is not my lover is naked in my bed and offering sex, the answer is probably no, unless this is a woman I’ve already been talking to about becoming sexual with.
If I am home alone and one of my lovers is naked in my bed offering sex, the answer is most likely yes.
